Using ‘pre-loved’ vintage & antique furniture because they all have a story to tell
Rural Lincolnshire based Chair Stylist & Designer
Ella Jenkins is participating in ESC Artists Summer Market on 2 June 2019 in the Stamford Arts Centre Ballroom.
My inspiration comes from lots of sources including the natural landscape, the history of the chair, a painting I like, maybe a birthday card.
Ella Jenkins is a chair stylist, a designer and upholsterer with a talent for re-imagining and re-vamping chairs to create unique and very special statement pieces of furniture.
Every chair is an original work of art and is made using a combination of appliqué, fabric paint and machine and hand embroidery.
All the chairs have been stripped back to the frame and reupholstered using traditional methods prior to recovering.
The landscapes and animals depicted in my work are inspired by the beautiful countryside of Lincolnshire and Norfolk plus the odd holiday trip abroad.
If you have a favourite chair that you would like transformed, perhaps for a special present or to celebrate someone or something, then Ella is happy to take commissions.
