“Inspired by my surroundings, nature, vintage vessels, gardens and the quirks of allotment life.“
Market Deeping based artist and printmaker Dehlia Barnard-Edmunds
Dehlia is exhibiting at our Escape the Ordinary Exhibition at Stamford Arts Centre Gallery: 12 to 23 November 2024
I am lucky enough to spend my time almost equally between two wildly different and inspiring counties: Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, where I take what excites and interests me and turn them into linocut prints
Dehlia Barnard-Edmunds is a printmaker/creative exploring the diverse and exciting world of print.
Having dabbled with printmaking during her time as a textile artist, it took the solitude of lockdowns to truly explore and hone her skills, carving and printing with lino onto paper and textiles.
Dehlia works primarily from her home in Lincolnshire and since 2020 has built a portfolio of works inspired by her collection of vintage vessels, gardens, the quirks of allotment life and rural scenes in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire too, where she spends much of her life. Ask her about any of her prints and she will tell you the tale that inspired her to create it.
Over the past year and a half, Dehlia has sold her work at venues across the country, including The Hepworth Wakefield.
Screenprinting, drypoint etching and monoprinting are some of the methods Dehlia is currently exploring, and is excited to extend her printing to textiles in the near future.
Dehlia is an experienced teacher and runs workshops in various printmaking methods.
