“My pottery started as a hobby that turned into an obsession and is now my job!“

Hello, I’m Steph, a self-taught potter based just outside Stamford in rural Lincolnshire.
My pottery started as a hobby that turned into an obsession and is now my job!
Each piece is handmade on my potter’s wheel, bisque fired, then glazed by hand, and fired again making each one unique. I work with black, grey and speckled stoneware clay as well as porcelain. I like clean lines and enjoy showing the contrast of the raw unglazed clay with simple glazes. Most of my work is functional, with occasional decorative pieces.
I have recently started working with willow and love the smoothness of the clay against the rough rustic willow. Together, clay and willow have taken over, it has all got a bit out of hand, and I couldn’t be happier!
