Kate Sell: Garden Reflections

Lincolnshire based Mosaic Artist

Kate is participating in ESC Artists Stamford Arts Centre autumn events, Gallery Exhibition from 25 October – 5 November and Artists Market in the Ballroom on 5 November 2017.

Taking inspiration from her garden and the Lincolnshire countryside Kate continues to develop her unique method of making glass mosaic mirrors. Her art pieces are guaranteed to become a favourite feature in any garden.

Looking back on things I’ve collected growing up, my love of glass and mosaics have always been there! I have dabbled in other creative pastimes including cross stitch and scrapbooking. Relaxation for me is gardening … when the weather is nice though and I also enjoy flower arranging. I am honoured to be a part of Lincoln Cathedral’s Flower Guild.

Kate’s mosaics incorporate stained glass and recycled mirror, sometimes including glass nuggets, wire and beads too. She also makes hanging fused glass decorations, known as Dangly Doo’s! Recently Kate has started to incorporate fused glass designs in to her mosaics and using some of her mosaic designs in the fused glass.
