Sleaford based Glass Artist
Liz is participating in ESC Artists Stamford Arts Centre Summer Artists Market in the Ballroom on 11 June 2017.
I originally trained as a healthcare worker before returning to full time education to study Art and Design and later specialise in kiln formed glass at Degree level.
Inspired by the techniques of printmaking and mixed media, I use glass as a blank canvas, layering and printing with enamels, powders and crushed glass to create depth and sometimes tactile surfaces.
The process of making is the most important aspect to me, working directly with the materials to see where it takes me and how the piece evolves.
As well as developing my own work I also run The Glass Room where I teach glass fusing to members of the public, community groups and schools.
