2018: Wendy McLean

Stamford based Jewellery Designer

Wendy is participating in ESC Artists Stamford Arts Centre Summer Market in the Ballroom on 24 June 2018.

Wendy McLean has been designing and making jewellery for more than 10 years. She is passionate about gemstones, and jewellery design. She successfully completed several jewellery making and silversmithing courses, including City and Guilds jewellery courses, and a diploma in Design and Innovation from the Open University. In 2010, she developed her own style of woven and coiled wire jewellery.

I create unique jewellery that will inspire.

Wendy has been selling her work in craft shows around the country, until recently. She now creates in her spare time.

Wendy McLean jewellery is distinctive because of her use of genuine quality gemstones and freshwater pearls, included in her unique coiled wire and silversmithing designs. Wendy has embraced the Viking knit wire weave, and designed her own techniques which also incorporate these gemstones. She creates colourful jewellery by using craft wires such as enamelled copper wire, as well as silver and gold metals. Many items are one-off pieces, although commissions are welcome.
